The Old Exe Bridge and St Edmunds Ruined Church
This mighty bridge once spanned the river Exe in Exeter, England. It was buried many years ago, and the church was built over it.
These days the river Exe flows about 50 feet from where this bridge stands. In the 1980's it was discovered by archaeologists and uncovered for the world to see.
Clearly this bridge was built to last, and when you walk along the surface it is hard not to envisage the people and animals crossing this bridge all those years ago!
